‘Winter Gardens Theatre – Morecambe’
The original painting was commissioned by the Winter Gardens Theatre to commemorate the 125th anniversary of this beautiful theatre.
The painting took four months to complete starting with sketching and photographing the rich and intricate interior of the theatre which was an indescribable joy and also humbling in the company of such a dedicated team of volunteers committed to its restoration.
It was very hard to choose which sections to include in the final painting, but it evolved in the form of four panels representing the most iconic details.

This panoramic view represents three of Morecambe’s most historical landmarks – the Victorian Winter Gardens Theatre, the Stone Jetty and the Art Deco Midland Hotel.
